I tell you I can't, 2019
Text installation
In 2019, I was Invited by ICA-LASALLE Singapore to explore the theme of 'Erase'. The project included research on land and memory which brought me to create 'I tell you I can't', a text installation that consisted of an acrylic rectangular box that holds inside a paper with a poem in Indian Ink, the text includes a series of extracts from Singapore based poets and writers, together with a poem written by me. During the exhibition, visitors were able to poor sand collected from the city, into the box, and over the text work causing the piece to move in reaction, fighting erasure. The project holds the relation between land, forced migration, and displacement.
